Every day I am aware that I want to do my walking for weight loss or pedometer steps quota and usually decide in the morning exactly how I plan to do it for this day. Sometimes though the ‘feeling’ isn’t there: I don’t want to do it, or I cannot see how to do it without stressing about conflict with other goals.

That’s when pedometer steps helps! By wearing a pedometer daily it is easy to get started. In fact the busier the day the better. Make a game out of fitting in extra steps especially when it seems difficult. Walk while waiting, fill in time with picking up toys or clothes (bend and take each item back to its spot individually), walk from the back of the house or the office instead of shouting or phoning.

Walk to the shops. Walk to the other side of the car park. Walk down the stairs instead of using the lift.

Walking for weight loss can be taken too seriously. Walking or exercise can be taken too seriously.

Make it easy on yourself.

At this time of year as Thanksgiving approaches it is the perfect time to coonsider the advantages of walking to lose weight as a lifestyle which enriches and balances your weight management and well being.

It is important to think about what you really want: the fabulous body, outstanding health…

However if these ideals seem too far away for you to achieve it is better to start where you are and how easy it is to get to the next step towards that ideal. Break up your overall goal into smaller steps and focus on those which seem doable.

Walking for weight loss is a brilliant way to put positivity and achievement into your daily life. Focusing on what you are now doing regularly and the many small changes you have successfully put in place, creates a new vision of you, for you to believe in.

One of these goals is the benefit of using the Thanksgiving process to support your overall weight loss efforts. So much of the talk around the Thanksgiviing holiday is about the food. In times past a plentiful food supply was many people’s greatest desire, but now…

So use this opportunity to go back to the real purpose of Thanksgiving and be thankful and hopeful about your abundance and the resulting desire for weight control. Appreciate the beautiful details of this day and be grateful for the walking for weight loss process and the world view which enables you to now enjoy this process.
