Walking to Lose Weight Requires Breakthrough After Breakthrough…
Unless you already have it-the weight you want, the look, the health and beauty-you probably have many years behind you of feeling this way about your body. It could have crept up on you or maybe this has been your world for all your life.
Today in Walking to Lose Weight I am going to tell you my perspective but before I do that, I want to explain how I got to this view.
Some years ago I was working in a job I really didn’t like. The things I didn’t like were overwhelming. The job was new and on paper looked good. I was working harder than I wanted for little appreciation. Then one day as I left the office late, I came to a conclusion-that I couldn’t solve this company’s problems and didn’t want to but I could effect how I felt about what I did. I decided to look for the fun elements in my job. I consciously chose to enjoy it. And, not overnight, but within a few short days the situation started to improve. I became successful in that position and enjoyed it immensely.
Fast forward to now. My lifestyle changed over time and weight became an issue which was not effecting my health but the joy of dressing up was no longer there.
This was not new. Repeatedly through various life stages I’d been in this situation. However I wasn’t the same person, and in addition the world had moved on, and my expectations about what I wanted from my lifestyle had changed.
I wanted flexibility and freedom-so I could travel, be there for family, support myself, discover the perfect lifestyle…and most importantly be happy.
To shorten a long story, I re-discovered that perspective from my earlier work life could be applied to all my life.
This is that perspective: I can feel good about the bits of my life I have control over-my decisions and feelings. Rather then look at the big issue (whatever it is) I look at the decisions I can make.
This is why walking to lose weight requires breakthrough after breakthrough.
Each time you make the decision to feel good about what you are doing when walking for weight loss you have made a breakthrough. And just like when working, the option to feel good is always available.
