Walking to Lose Weight is for YOU!
Walking to lose weight is about making time to improve you. Take stock at this stage- Day 12- check your walking details the same as we did before (see Day 4) and set your goals for the next 5 days. Do this periodically- recording, reviewing and setting target walking. Report the results via your own Twitter log
Other People
If when making a decision you have nothing interfering with your implementation of it, then you have it easy. Other people can help or hinder you and it is necessary to hold on to what you have already achieved while you allow other people in. However while you are pushing your weight loss and walking to lose weight boundaries by increasing your goals and putting variety in to relieve boredom and burn more calories, be balanced about what else you allow in. Work, as with other responsibilities, is a given for most so this must be incorporated in with your weight loss routine.
Perhaps others can: join with you for weight loss, group walking or enjoying a DVD such as Walk Away the Pounds; take some chores from you to let the time be there to commit to regular exercise; encourage you; cheer you on if you’re in a fun run or walk; providing support at those times when you need it.
The Zig Zag Rule
There is one basic rule which applies specifically for everyone involved: it is the matter of balancing commitment to walking to lose weight against the need for relief, fun, relaxation and responsibilities.
Successful ongoing weight loss requires you to be self motivated and self reliant. Is that you? If not this could be something to build up within yourself. For instance those who suffer from perfectionism could find this works against them. Just as in other life issues resilience is required to lose a lot of weight.
Do a balancing act between what is necessary, doing too much and falling off the program. There is a normal zig zag pattern which requires you to keep returning to your purpose and then refocus.
Today is a good day to plan something new. Be creative. Your clothes are already telling you that the weight loss is happening. Concentrate on the positive. Make today about feeling good with where you are going.
This Walking to Lose Weight program is designed with the idea of planting a seed which may take off straight away or may not grow until the weather warms or some other time. There are 2 important things from this point- if you’re started and can remain positive about what you are achieving even with the occasional setback, then keep on going- you’re in good shape!
