Walking to Lose Weight – Think about it!

If walking is just too much for your body then other options such as swimming may be better. However often it only requires either strengthening exercises or tailored facilities, which will get you to a point where walking becomes a little easier. Then your walking to lose weight process starts at this point. Sometimes, in other words, it requires setting yourself up for success. You may need a pre-season. To go into training or preparation for the real event. This is very much about small steps, in all senses.

This is not the normal focus of this daily walking and weight loss process but everything that applies to those who can walk easily also applies to those who can’t.
The reason that most of us need to do walking to lose weight is that we have lost some of the understanding of the connection between activity and well being.

Among the many proven benefits of walking: can prevent “age-related” memory losses ; has de-stressing and anti-depressant properties; “improving the function and performance of the brain“; Cleveland Clinic Foundation found that thinking about exercising strengthens muscles.

Walking to lose weight is a great way to learn about your body, the world around you and to generally improve your life. There are many benefits to walking regularly and although the focus of this blog is on weight loss, this process is often tied in with health and vitality issues. Many who want to lose weight and increase fitness may be starting from a level of disability, even finding walking difficult.
Obviously if this is a medical situation any action taken needs to be in consultation with your appropriate therapist.

What to do when you just  can’t?   Think about it!
