Day 3
Day 2 of the 31 Ways to Lose Weight Walking.
Today’s task is to think about getting hold of a pedometer.
In other words can you borrow, buy or find, a pedometer, to use all day, from getting up in the morning to last thing at night. By Day 6 I want you to have some sort of step or distance monitor. They range from cheap to super-dooper-that choice is up to you. Generally it is a good idea to get a clip which keeps the pedometer attached to you if it is jerked. Some come with these, you can buy them separately and I’ve seen them tied on with string.
Today’s tasks: walk plus organising a pedometer for Day 6.
Walk Let’s review. You are steadily increasing the amount of walking, by small increments. You may want to choose one day of the week to go on an extended walk,or go to the gym, or add in a DVD exercise session over and above your daily walk. I find that this variety enhances the experience and increases the effectiveness of the weight loss program.
Pedometer I like to keep it simple at first. Cheap is good to get an idea of how a monitor can help you keep track and stay motivated. If you just can’t get hold of one you can measure walks by driving in the car over the same route. I have written previously on my most recent experience of buying a pedometer and using it while walking to lose weight.
Have you gone for your walk yet? I have and as is usual I feel really good.
